  • Brexit update for pet travel after 31st January 2020.

As Brexit discussions continue over the next few months,  here is the most recent update regarding pets travelling too and from the UK to the EU.

The Government has now reached an agreement with the EU on a three-month Brexit extension. This means the UK will leave the EU on 31 January 2020, with an option to leave earlier if a deal is ratified.  This means that the UK have not left the EU on 31 October 2019 as planned.  During the extension period, pets will be able to travel to and from the EU under current pet travel rules and using their current EU pet passport. HOWEVER after that period if we have a no deal Brexit then as before blood testing and further certification will be required.

If you have any questions or travel plans after 31st January then please contact us at the Barn as soon as possible.
