  • We have some big news here at Oak Barn

We have some big news here at Oak Barn. Vets Louise and Andrew Ketteridge will be retiring in June.

It has been their privilege and honour to look after the pets of Shalford and the surrounding areas, but the time has come to take a step back. As many of you know, 2019 threw a few health challenges at the Ketteridges and 2020 hasn’t been very forgiving either.

Louise has been working continually since qualifying back in 1996 and vetting in Shalford for 17 years. Oak Barn Vets has grown beyond everyone’s expectations over the years; all thanks to the fantastic support of our clients, and an amazing team of vets, nurses, support staff and hard work.

Of course we’ll all be sad to see Louise and Andrew go, but as a veterinary practice we remain committed to the exceptional standards of care we have always delivered to pets and their owners. With that in mind we’re excited to announce that Pete van Dongen will join the practice as our new Clinical Director. Pete is the partner of our vet Rimante Butkute, who many of you will already know, so we’re definitely continuing with ‘keeping it in the family’.

Unfortunately, due to current circumstances and social distancing rules we’re unable to throw a goodbye party for Louise and Andrew, but we’ll make sure they receive any well wishes you’d like to leave for them. Their last day will be Wednesday 17th June, and then it’s time for a well earned rest.

Good luck to Louise and Andrew, from all of us at Oak Barn.
