We have welcomed Rimante back to the Barn.
Some of our clients might recognise our newest member of the Veterinary team. Rimante did a short Locum period with us back in 2018. After completing her internship at Fitzpatrick Referrals, we are thrilled to welcome her back as a permanent member of the team!
Rimante studied veterinary medicine in Kaunas, Lithuania. As part of her studies, during her last year in Vet School, she spent 3 months in the UK, doing her training under the Erasmus Programme.
After qualifying as a veterinary surgeon she subsequently started working in a busy small animal practice in Klaipeda, Lithuania. She also did some wildlife work, whilst there.
After couple of years she decided to come back to the UK. Whilst working in large and busy small animal hospitals, she developed a strong interest in surgery, especially soft tissue surgery. Initially she lived and worked in Kent, but after a while she decided to taste some countryside and moved to Surrey.
Rimante decided to follow her dream and deepen her surgical knowledge whilst doing an internship. Recently she finished a one-year long Internship in Soft Tissue Surgery and Surgical Oncology at Fitzpatrick Referrals, Surrey. She enjoyed working in this purpose built, world renowned animal cancer hospital and gained a lot of experience in dealing with four legged cancer patients.
In her free time she enjoys travel photography, tasting different cuisines and is always ready for adventures. Together with her fiancé (who is also a vet!) she shares her home with a ginger cat called Rocky. And they are soon getting a puppy!
Her dream is to visit Australia and Africa and to work with wildlife once again. One day!
