We had an amazing day on Saturday! Between 11am and 1pm we ran a fundraiser for the Blue Cross - Paws for Tea.
I was overwhelmed how many people baked the most amazing cakes and we had over 50 people and their families and dogs arrive. All enjoyed tea and cake and then either a short walk round the fields for puppies that were able, a hill walk up the Chantries for the more energetic or a river walk along the Wey for a bit of a paddle (dogs only of course!).
Even the weather was kind to us and nobody got lost with my directions!
Incredibly we raised £141.60 for the Blue Cross, a charity that devote their time to looking after all pets, large and small across the country. For more information about their excellent work please have a look at their website.
I dread forgetting to thank someone but special thanks go to Karen Vincent for helping with so many cups of tea (over 50!) and still finding time to bake as well. Bakers included my fantastic husband Andrew, Louise Etheridge, Mrs Archer, Nicola Ridha, Corrine Lisle and Mrs Monkton. Any recipes gratefully received as the selection of goodies was fantastic and people keep asking!
Karen and Ella also worked tirelessly giving up their Saturday afternoon to help tidy up for which I am especially grateful as we had been incredibly busy the week before and I know how precious their time off is!
There are a few photographs of the party attached although I must admit that I deleted over 30 blurry ones and should definitely stick to the day job! The Surrey Advertiser has confirmed they are running an article in this weeks paper too so more news on that later.
Again thank you to everyone for such a great effort for such a brilliant cause.
Best Wishes
Louise
