We must be mad but rather than the Guildford raft race this year we have signed up to do the Guide Dog's Coniston Challenge - all to raise money to sponsor a Guide Dog and change someone's life!
The Guide Dogs Charity does an amazing job giving freedom to thousands of blind and partially sighted people in the UK. Currently there are nearly 5000 Guide Dogs in service, the cost of training them and, once working, providing food and veterinary care, is all covered by this amazing Charity.
At Oak Barn we have entered their adventure challenge this September called the Coniston Challenge based in the Lake District. We have to scale the Old Man of Coniston a nice 10km yomp vertically! We then have a 12km moutain bike race back through the Grizedale Forest before finally Kayaking back across Coniston Water to our start point!!!
Wish us luck but more importantly please support us with this challenge - we have a target of £2000 to raise with all monies going straight to the Guide Dogs. If you can help sponsor us then please go to our Just Giving Page here.
Thank you so much for your support - we will keep you updated with our training and adventures over the summer. September 17th seems a long way off but it will come around very soon!
