We can't believe that we are already celebrating our second Birthday this week!
As a special thankyou for all your support since we have opened we will be holding a Birthday Tea Party again this Saturday, 19th October. Please feel free to bring friends and family, especially of the four legged variety. We will be offering tea and cake between 10 am and 12 noon.
September's case of the month highlights the perils of some day to day products we use in the home, without a second thought, and the harm they can potentially do our pets.
It hasn't been widely advertised but did you know this week the Kennel Club are running Puppy Awareness Week to try and highlight the perils of getting a pup from a Puppy Farm? Also did you know that tail docking has been illegal in the UK since 2007 unless strict guidelines are adhered too?
Bourbon is really a case of the last few months!! Unfortunately his case is a fine example of how dermatology (skin) problems often take time to diagnose and treat and are often chronic or lifelong conditions.
There have been several reports of sightings of Adders recently so we thought some advice on how to live with our rare friends might be in order!
This Saturday was the Guildford Lions Charity Raft Race along the River Wey - despite an unscheduled swim we made it!
This month brave Woody is our Case of the Month when he unfortunately tried to jump over a barbed wire fence and failed.
With all this hot weather we have seen a few emergencies recently. Thankfully all have done well but it's always nice to know what to do for the best if you are ever unfortunate enough to have a sudden issue with your pet.
Our case of the month for June is Blot who has had his knees reconstructed!
Blot is an 18 month old domestic short hair moggie who had been rescued after being found in a plastic bag in the park at only 6 weeks of age. Unfortunately for poor old Blot he had been born with knee caps that refused to stay in the correct place, this resulted in his knee caps popping out and becoming stuck. The technical term for this is a patella luxation and as you can imagine it is very painful when it happens.
