This month’s caseload has been a little unusual, in part due to the large number of hopping and burrowing patients that we have cared for. Certainly here at Oak Barn Vets rabbit numbers seem to be on the up (well you know what they say about rabbits!!).
Despite the chaos on the roads this morning we are still open and available to do house visits if necessary!
Shilo is our very unusual case of the month for December – a lovely dog with an incredibly rare and life threatening blood disorder.
We've been contacted today by a local practice in Guildford who have sadly seen three cases of Parvo Virus Enteritis (diarrhoea) in dogs in the last 24 hours. Even with prompt veterinary treatment this disease can be fatal.
As we start to finish up here for the day we all would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas! We've been blown away by so many good wishes and generous gifts over the last few days - coffee time is going to be a lot of fun over the next few weeks!
Wow! What a lovely surprise! We've been nominated by you for this years' Petplan Veterinary Awards in the category for Vet Practice of the Year and Vet of the Year! This is a public vote so you can imagine how chuffed we are to have been nominated by you all. Voting closes in January and the awards are in April so we will let you know how we get on! We've had some great news from Surrey Police regarding some of the cases we reported in our recent blog.
Oscar, despite his handsome photograph, is a wiley 15 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Even though he is in retirement he still enjoys pottering around with the horses, investigating his local countryside and curling up for a cuddle in the warm!
As many of you will already be aware there has been a worrying increase in dog thefts recently.
