Spot the obvious problem! Air is supposed to be in your lungs within your chest - not leaking out into your surrounding tissues. Read on to see how Dennis managed to survive this despite being 15 years old!
We had a fantastic time this Bank Holiday Monday at the Guildford Lions Fun Dog Show. The sun was shining and we had over 160 entries this year! Best of all the entire show raised over £6000 for local Guildford charities.
Wishing you all a very happy Easter weekend!
We will be open as usual on Saturday morning (9-12). In the unlikely event of an emergency over the Bank Holiday Vets Now will be available 24/7. If you are at all worried about your pet please call the surgery or phone Vets Now directly on 01483 346203.
This month’s “case of the month” is an unforgettable character. “Hardy” named after one of the comedic duo “Laurel and Hardy” is a happy go lucky pug!
Many of you who follow this blog will have read before about a condition called Alabama Rot that affects dogs otherwise known as Idiopathic Cutaneous and Renal Glomerular Vasculopathy or CRGV for short. Please read on for an update on this condition.
This month’s caseload has been a little unusual, in part due to the large number of hopping and burrowing patients that we have cared for. Certainly here at Oak Barn Vets rabbit numbers seem to be on the up (well you know what they say about rabbits!!).
Despite the chaos on the roads this morning we are still open and available to do house visits if necessary!
Shilo is our very unusual case of the month for December – a lovely dog with an incredibly rare and life threatening blood disorder.
We've been contacted today by a local practice in Guildford who have sadly seen three cases of Parvo Virus Enteritis (diarrhoea) in dogs in the last 24 hours. Even with prompt veterinary treatment this disease can be fatal.
