Dotty Maynard is our brave case of the month with the battle to save her leg. Strictly speaking Dotty started as a patient in September but her lengthy treatment course has taken her through October and into November so she definitely qualifies as our case of the month!
We've had an update from Anderson Moores who are the specialist centre investigating over the last two years cases of Acute Kidney Injury in dogs - otherwise known as Alabama Rot in the press.
At this time of year we all get excited about fireworks but unfortunately the same cannot be said for our pets. Here is some helpful advice about how to help them over the next few weeks that was also in our Autumn Newsletter. If you did not receive a newsletter by email please contact the practice and we will ensure you are added to the mailing list!
We had a lovely morning last Saturday celebrating our third birthday! Lots of you came to say hello, enjoy some birthday cake and got to have a look round the practice. This included lots of our doggy friends although only naughty Dougal managed to steal a slice of cake too - unfortunately there was no photographic evidence; he was far too quick!
We can't believe it will be our Third Birthday this weekend! As a thankyou for all your amazing support we are holding a little birthday celebration. The practice will be open for tours, feel free to bring your dogs and use us as a base for some lovely walks on the downs and best of all there will be tea and cake! It's this Saturday 18th October between 10am and Noon, we hope to see you there!
With the recent very sad news in Spain of a dog being Euthanased due to the Ebola virus here is the up to date information from America regarding their stance on the disease.
Brave Sam is our September Case of the Month. He originally grew up in Wales and came to live in Surrey having been adopted in 2013. His past life was as a roaming Tom cat and he has the big cheeks and loving personality to go with it - plus a few scars from a previous 'busy' lifestyle. Despite his rough tough former years he is extremely affectionate and slipped into his new luxurious Surrey lifestyle without a care!
Many of you will have heard the heartbreaking news regarding the fire at Manchester Dogs Home. The site has been decimated and tragically many dogs have died.
One of our star patients during August was Betty a delightful 9 year old black and white cat who nearly died from a dangerous infection.
