Brave Sam is our September Case of the Month. He originally grew up in Wales and came to live in Surrey having been adopted in 2013. His past life was as a roaming Tom cat and he has the big cheeks and loving personality to go with it - plus a few scars from a previous 'busy' lifestyle. Despite his rough tough former years he is extremely affectionate and slipped into his new luxurious Surrey lifestyle without a care!
Many of you will have heard the heartbreaking news regarding the fire at Manchester Dogs Home. The site has been decimated and tragically many dogs have died.
One of our star patients during August was Betty a delightful 9 year old black and white cat who nearly died from a dangerous infection.
As many of you will have known we've had the nicest kitten staying with us for a few days!
He was found on a clients doorstep in Bramley on the 14th August - thin and very vocal trying to get in her house! With her two siamese cats he was most definitely not welcome so in desperation after checking with all her neighbours she brought him to us.
Our case of the month for July 2014 is Flora an Italian Spinone puppy with a big personality and a rapidly growing body to go with it!
We had great fun on Saturday and are proud to report no swimming this year!
The theme this year was nursery rhymes so Bo Peep and 'her' sheep duly entered from the Barn!
June's case of the month is the amazing Derby Morden - a 14 and a half year old female Staffie who was determined to survive despite her near drowning!
Lisa Milella is a dental specialist veterinary surgeon that has looked after some of our patients at the Barn over the years. Then she learnt the tragic news last August that she was suffering from Motor Neurone disease. Most of us at that point would have fallen apart at the seams but Lisa immediately drew up a bucket list of endangered species she wanted to help whilst she still could.
